The Benefits of Massage

Current Research is beginning to validate what most clients already know about massage therapy; it can help ease or prevent many common ailments that are often treated with prescription drugs. Massage Therapy is based on the ability of the body to naturally heal itself.

Therapeutic Massage-

A hands-on full body or problem area specific massage of medium pressure. Relieves muscle tension, stimulates circulation, increases serotonin levels, improves muscle tone and promotes total mind and body relaxation.

Deep Tissue Massage-

A firm-pressure therapeutic massage. Helps alleviate pain, muscle spasms, stress, inflammation and tissue damage. Great for anyone with soft tissue problems that produce any discomfort or pain; a perfect complement to Chiropractic care.

Sports Massage-

A therapeutic massage that includes stretching and compression techniques. Rehabilitates soft tissue dysfunction that can result from physical labor, lifting weights or sports-related injuries. Promotes flexibility, reduces swelling, relives muscle tension and alleviates muscle fatigue.

Shiatsu Massage-

This is an ancient Japanese form of alternative medicine that is characterized using only the palms, fingers and especially the thumbs in relieving muscular pain, nausea, stress, depression and anxiety.  The objective of a Shiatsu practitioner is to use the sensory organs of their hands to detect disharmonies of the energetic components of the body and to perform routines to correct these problems.  As a result of the disharmonies, people experience stiffness or slackness at or within the body's surface.

*Shiatsu is a Holistic Bodywork:*

Shiatsu massage is used to reach the harmony of chi in the human body.  This oriental medicine philosophy states that the main cause of disease is the unbalance of chi in the body.  Shiatsu massage therapy does not heal the disease; this form of massage therapy directly affects the meridians which then help to unblock the meridian points where the chi is blocked.  Health problems are caused by this blockage of chi.
